Kit List

​

The list of actual things you need to swim wild is very short:

- swim suit

- towel (make it a big one as we get changed on the beach)

- a bright coloured swim cap (to be seen by other water users)

- goggles

Some of my swims and courses will require a tow float. If so, it will be specified in the swim/course description.

The list of things for after the swim is as crucial as the list above. Because we swim in cold water most of the year, the recovery after the swim is an important part of it.

You should bring:

- Flask of a hot drink (not scalding!)

- Warm jumper and an additional layer or two

- Woolly hat

- Thick socks

- Gloves 

 

And you may also like to bring:

- Wetsuits 

- Neoprene gloves and/or boots.

- Hot water bottle

- A mat to stand on and keep your feet off the cold ground

- Cake or something sugary to eat!
